I remember seeing my first Smeck around 1972. It had these cool red strings, but best of all, it had seals! ...beautiful Art Deco seals!
Even though I didn’t play the ukulele at the time, I knew that I had to have one.
It only took 28 years, but I’m happy to say I finally got one..
The model V is a refined version of this classic uke. Subtle binding accents set off the two tone sides while the fingerboard sports a snappy multicolored wooden side stripe. Traditionally this uke came with a spruce top. I can offer this uke in any combination of fine aged woods, limited only by your imagination.
While retaining the look and feel of the original, this modern uke plays in tune and will meet the standards of even the most critical musician. With its "tap tuned" top and attention to detail, this diminutive dandy barks with the authority of a big box Jazz guitar!
